Job Description and Duties

Join us! We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and committed nutrition professional to join the Field Services Administration (FSA) team. Under the direction of the Region 2-Central Child Nutrition Supervisor I of the Field Service Unit 1 in the FSA of the Nutrition Services Division, the incumbent will monitor and complete administrative reviews of program operators participating in Child Nutrition Programs (CNP) for compliance with state and federal regulations, conduct nutrient analyses of meals served, educate the public as well as nonprofit program operators, provide program-related technical assistance, and analyze and interpret state and federal laws and regulations.

The position requires at least 50 percent travel and throughout the state of California as needed. The hybrid schedule requires a minimum of two days per week in the field or reporting to the office in-person. Registered Dietitians are preferred.

The majority of the caseloads will be in Madera, Merced, Mariposa, Mono, Tuolumne, Stanislaus, Calaveras, San Joaquin, and surrounding counties.

Personal Leave Program 2025

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary range(s) shown on this job posting does not reflect the salary reduction.

This position is headquartered either in Sacramento or Fresno and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. Currently, the hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of two days per week in the office.
