    Child Life Specialist – Tulsa, OK

    Position Summary

    The Child Life Specialist supports hospitalized children and their families by providing developmentally appropriate activities, emotional support, and coping strategies throughout the healthcare experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assess children and families and develop individualized child life interventions.
    • Provide therapeutic play, developmental activities, and emotional support.
    • Document assessments, interventions, and progress in the medical record.
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and support interdisciplinary care.
    • Orient and supervise volunteers assisting with child life activities.
    • Participate in community outreach and children's health initiatives.
    • Maintain current knowledge of child life practices and evidence-based care.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or related field.
    • Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship or fellowship.
    • Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS).
    • 0–1 year of child development experience.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred

    • Healthcare or hospital experience.
    • Master’s-level preparation in Child Life Studies.
