We are hiring a Child Life Specialist to support pediatric patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey. In this role, you will help children and families navigate the hospital experience through education, emotional support, developmental care, and therapeutic interventions. You will also serve as a resource for students, volunteers, and interdisciplinary team members while supporting community outreach initiatives.

What you'll do

  • Assess the psychosocial, developmental, and emotional needs of pediatric patients and families.
  • Provide preparation, education, coping support, and therapeutic activities to enhance the patient experience.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient and family-centered care.
  • Mentor child life students and volunteers and serve as a resource within pediatric service areas.
  • Support community outreach efforts, special events, and donation programs that benefit pediatric patients.

Who you are

  • Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients and families in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate support during challenging healthcare experiences.
  • Passion for child development, family-centered care, and patient advocacy.

Licensure:

Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Child Life Required

 

OR Bachelor's Degree Family Studies Required

Experience:

1 Year Clinical - Child-Life Program Preferred

1 Year Fellowship/Internship/Residency - Related Area Preferred
