Position Summary: Per diem Child Life Specialist. Please note this is at our Needham, MA location. This role will support our surgical department. We require a minimum of 2 shifts per month for our per diem staff.
The Child Life Specialist will be responsible for:- Participating in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, and facilitate adjustment to health care experiences
- Serve as member of multidisciplinary team.
- Delegate work assignments to volunteers/Child Life Assistant's and participate in clinical training of student interns.

Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life. 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.
Experience: General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced‑based knowledge.- Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.
- Licensure/ Certifications:
Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire
