Baystate Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Life Specialist I to join our Child Life Services team. In this role, you will provide developmentally appropriate, child life focused care to pediatric patients and their families in the Pediatric Emergency Department.
Working collaboratively with the healthcare team, you will deliver individualized therapeutic interventions that support coping, education, and emotional well-being throughout the patient's care experience.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Child Life Specialists work closely with the healthcare team to promote positive experiences and reduce fear and anxiety associated with medical care.
Services include:
Procedural preparation
Bedside and playroom activities that support growth and development
Emotional support for families and siblings
Special events and celebrations
Coping support during treatments and procedures.
Bereavement support to families and siblings when needed.
Isabela is Baystate Children's Hospitals first ever facility dog who provides animal-assisted therapy to pediatric patients, their families, and staff members.

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
