Position Child Development Center Teacher or Teacher Aide Department Child Development Center/TPNS Starting Salary Initial Screening Date Preferred Start Date Details

The Lake Tahoe Community College Child Development Center (CDC) and Tahoe Parents Nursery School (TPNS) are recruiting for part-time or substitute positions in the Preschool, Toddler, and Infant rooms. Available positions range from part-time, temporary Teacher Aides and, dependent on education and experience, substitute Teacher.

  • Part-time, temporary Teacher Aide, up to 27.5 hours per week starting at $18.97 per hour.
  • Part-time, substitute Teacher, up to 27.5 hours per week starting at $20.68 per hour.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

We would love to meet you! Applications are reviewed periodically and candidates are called in for interviews on an as needed basis. This position serves as a pool of applicants for the CDC and TPNS. At point of hire employees are required to pass a physical examination provided by the district, and meet applicable Title 22 and Title 5 requirements.

Description

  • Assist in the incorporation of good health and safety standards of the children.
  • Assist children in learning self-help skills; providing for the physical care of the children, including but not limited to changing, diapering, feeding, and comforting as needed.
  • Assist in preparation of snacks and meals, as needed; helping to maintain an orderly environment.
  • Inform the supervisor when materials and nutrition supplies are needed.
  • Attend and participate in staff and parent meetings and events.
  • Assist in the maintenance of records and reports.
  • Assist the children if an emergency occurs and be part of the emergency readiness team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
