Child Care Teacher

Pay: $18 to $22 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, direct hire
Location: Richmond, VA (downtown), on-site
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7.5-hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM

About the Role

Sparta Networking is hiring a Child Care Teacher for a hospital-based child development center in downtown Richmond, part of a leading academic health system. The center uses the Reggio Emilia approach and serves children from six weeks to six years old.

As part of a teaching team, you will plan and lead creative, age-appropriate lessons. You will keep a safe, clean and engaging classroom, and build every child's confidence through positive daily interactions. This is a direct hire role: you join the employer's team from day one.

What You Will Do

• Plan, develop and carry out lesson plans for your assigned classroom
• Support cognitive, social, language and motor development, including gross and fine motor skills and independence
• Apply Reggio concepts in both the indoor and outdoor classroom
• Document each child's daily progress and activities, and prepare reports for parents
• Keep written records for each child current and accurate
• Guide teacher aides and volunteers assigned to your classroom
• Keep the classroom clean and free of safety hazards, following infection control and cleaning procedures
• Make sure the playground is supervised and covered at all times
• Help children and parents move smoothly into and out of your classroom
• Work closely with fellow teachers, team leaders and the center director
• Follow licensing and accreditation standards and center policies
• Take part in staff meetings and required continuing education

What We Are Looking For

Required

• 2 years of childcare experience with children six weeks to six years old
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate
