Primary Function of Position: Supervises and implements a program of learning activities and care for young children in accordance with the goals and philosophy of the Francis Tuttle Child Development Center.

Essential Job Functions:
- Provide care and protection for assigned children.
- Plan, schedule and implement the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for a classroom group of children.
- Maintain required daily records on individual children including observations, activities, lesson plans, etc.
- Excellent communication skills with parents, children, and other co-workers.
- Complete continuing education hours per State of Oklahoma requirements.
- Supervise and encourage the development of assistant teachers, Early Care & Education students, and other childcare personnel in the classroom.
- Ability to be present on the job as described under working conditions and contract details.
- Other duties assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree in Child Development/Early Childhood or Child Development Associate certification preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in an Early Education group setting.
- Must meet the requirements of Master Teacher set forth by OKDHS.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and direction.
- Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children an interacting with parents.
- Extensive knowledge of childcare principles, procedures, and early childhood teaching strategies.
- Ability and desire to maintain/manage an efficient, well-organized classroom environment.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills.
- Strong written communication demonstrated in both lesson planning and parent messages.
- Ability to relate to children and make the childcare facility an enjoyable atmosphere.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment by prioritizing tasks and projects.
- Strong flexibility, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to anticipate needs, be resourceful, and develop strong employee partnerships within the organization.
- Ability to consistently deliver superior customer service and work quality to internal and external customers.
- This position requires both possession of a valid Oklahoma Driver's license and the ability to independently drive to meetings, training locations, and other District campuses. The employee must also remain in compliance with District driving record policies.
Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods of standing and frequent movement. Ability to lift up to 25lbs and 50lbs with lift assist. Supervision of children on the playground and participation in other child-oriented activities. Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance. Organizational Relationship:
Full-time, non-exempt personnel position reports directly to the Child Development Center Manager.
Contract Details:
Twelve-month contract subject to annual renewal. Working days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Francis Tuttle offers a comprehensive benefit package for full-time employment to include paid health and dental insurance, monthly supplemental benefit compensation of $500, employee leave plan with family friendly work calendar and 100% contribution into Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System. The district will match up to 2% of monthly, base salary with a 403b or 457 retirement plan (base salary does not include stipends or extra duty).

This range represents individuals who are fully experienced and qualified, demonstrate sustained performance for a period of time and exhibit full proficiency in all aspects of their role.
