    As we look toward the future, we are seeking a Preschool Director who is excited not only to lead our program today, but to help our school grow, strengthen our team, increase enrollment, and continue building an exceptional early childhood program for our community.


    About the Role

    The Preschool Director serves as the educational and operational leader of the school, responsible for daily operations, staff leadership, financial management, enrollment growth, curriculum excellence, licensing compliance, Texas Rising Star quality initiatives, family relationships, and partnership with Colonial Hills United Methodist Church.

    We are looking for a collaborative, hands-on leader who is genuinely passionate about early childhood education and wants the opportunity to make an impact. The right person will enjoy developing teachers, building relationships with families, strengthening our school community, and playing an important role in the continued growth and success of Colonial Hills.


    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting
    • High school diploma or equivalent (required minimum qualification under Texas Child Care Regulation)
    • Texas Child Care Director Credential or actively working toward obtaining one
    • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field
    • Experience leading and maintaining Texas Rising Star certification and quality improvement initiatives
    • Knowledge of Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Regulation and Texas Minimum Standards
    • Experience with curriculum implementation, teacher coaching, and classroom support
    • Experience implementing Conscious Discipline® practices
    • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and nonprofit financial management
    • Experience with enrollment management, childcare billing systems, and family communication platforms

    Include Responsibilities

    • Oversee all daily operations of the preschool
    • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and retain staff
    • Maintain licensing compliance and Texas Rising Star requirements
    • Coordinate and oversee required staff professional development and training
    • Support teachers through curriculum leadership, coaching, and professional development
    • Manage enrollment, attendance, billing, and childcare management systems such as Procare, Brightwheel, or similar platforms
    • Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and tuition recommendations
    • Oversee payroll and work with the school bookkeeper to ensure proper financial management
    • Lead marketing, communications, social media, and enrollment initiatives to support continued school growth
    • Support fundraising efforts and community engagement
    • Build strong relationships with families, staff, church leadership, and community partners
    • Work collaboratively with the School Board, Pastor, and Facilities Coordinator of Colonial Hills United Methodist Church

    Position Details

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
    Occasional evenings and limited weekends required for school events, meetings, and church functions.
