Position Summary

As a Child & Adolescent Behavior Specialist, you will work directly with youth and their families to develop individualized recovery plans focused on strengths, support systems, resiliency, and personal goals. You will serve as a primary coordinator of behavioral health services, helping clients access resources, build life skills, manage behavioral health symptoms, and improve functioning across home, school, and community environments.

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting youth and families through strength-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.

Responsibilities

Recovery Planning & Service Coordination

  • Develop and support Individual Resiliency Plans (IRPs) with youth and families

  • Help youth and caregiversidentifypersonal goals, strengths, and support systems

  • Coordinate access to behavioral health, medical, educational, social, and community resources

  • Monitor services and provide follow-up to ensure needs are effectively addressed

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for behavioral health and community-based services

Skill Building & Behavioral Health Support

  • Teach coping strategies and emotional regulation skills

  • Help youthidentifyemotional triggers and develop self-management techniques

  • Support development of social, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Assistyouth in improving functioning at home, school, work, and community settings

  • Promote resilience through individualized interventions and goal-focused support

  • Encourage healthy natural supports and community connections

Crisis Prevention & Family Support

  • Assistfamilies in planning for and preventing crisis situations

  • Provide educationregardingbehavioral health conditions and symptom management

  • Support families in creating environments that foster resiliency and emotional growth

  • Identifyrisk factors related to substance use and develop relapse prevention strategies

  • Strengthen family engagement and involvement in treatment planning

Community Engagement & Advocacy

  • Link youth and families to community resources and entitlement services

  • Promote participation in school, community, and recreational activities

  • Collaborate with community partners and service providers

  • Advocate for youth needs across service systems

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintaintimely,accurate, and complete documentation

  • Ensure compliance with agency and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and professional development activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field

  • Valid Georgia Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

  • Ability to pass criminal background screening requirements

  • Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Sensitivity and responsiveness to culturally diverse populations

Preferred

  • Prior experience in behavioral health, mental health, or human services

  • Experience working in a therapeutic treatment environment

  • Experience supporting children, adolescents, and families

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and resiliency-based interventions
