    Position Overview

    We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the organization’s overall technology vision, engineering strategy, and innovation roadmap. This executive role is responsible for defining how technology is used to drive business growth, product excellence, operational efficiency, and long-term competitive advantage.

    The ideal candidate is a senior technology executive with deep expertise in software engineering, system architecture, cloud platforms, and digital transformation. They must have a strong track record of building scalable technology organizations and delivering complex, high-impact systems in fast-paced environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Technology Vision & Strategy

    • Define and lead the organization’s long-term technology vision and roadmap

    • Align technology strategy with business goals, product direction, and market opportunities

    • Evaluate emerging technologies and determine strategic adoption opportunities

    • Drive innovation across engineering, platform, and product development teams

    • Establish technical principles, architecture standards, and engineering direction

    Engineering & Architecture Leadership

    • Oversee software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure, and architecture teams

    • Lead design of scalable, secure, and high-performance distributed systems

    • Ensure adoption of modern engineering practices, microservices, and cloud-native architectures

    • Guide technical decision-making for complex system design and trade-offs

    • Ensure systems are built for reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability

    Cloud, Infrastructure & Platform Strategy

    • Define and oversee cloud strategy across AWS, Azure, or GCP

    • Lead modernization of legacy systems and migration to cloud-native platforms

    • Ensure infrastructure scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency

    • Oversee DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and platform operations

    • Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code adoption

    Innovation, AI & Emerging Technologies

    • Lead adoption of AI, machine learning, and generative AI capabilities

    • Oversee development of intelligent systems, automation, and data-driven platforms

    • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies into product and engineering ecosystems

    • Drive experimentation, prototyping, and innovation initiatives

    • Support development of AI-enabled products and services

    Security, Risk & Compliance

    • Partner with security leadership to ensure robust cybersecurity posture

    • Oversee secure system design and architecture-level security practices

    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security frameworks

    • Support risk management strategies for technology systems

    • Ensure resilience against cyber threats and system vulnerabilities

    Product & Business Alignment

    • Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Executive Leadership to align technology with business needs

    • Translate business strategy into scalable technical solutions

    • Ensure engineering efforts directly support revenue growth and customer value

    • Participate in product roadmap and strategic planning discussions

    • Bridge the gap between technical execution and business outcomes

    Leadership & Organizational Development

    • Build, lead, and scale high-performing engineering and technology teams

    • Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering and technical talent

    • Develop leadership pipelines including Directors, VPs, and Staff Engineers

    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence

    • Define organizational structure for engineering and technology teams

    Operational Excellence & Delivery

    • Ensure high-quality and timely delivery of engineering initiatives

    • Improve development velocity, system reliability, and operational efficiency

    • Oversee KPIs for engineering performance, system health, and delivery success

    • Reduce technical debt and improve long-term system maintainability

    • Ensure strong observability, monitoring, and incident response practices

    Executive Leadership & Governance

    • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team

    • Represent technology strategy at board-level meetings

    • Collaborate with CEO, COO, CFO, and other executives on strategic initiatives

    • Provide technology insights for investment, scaling, and organizational growth

    • Establish governance frameworks for engineering and technology decisions

    Vendor, Budget & Resource Management

    • Oversee technology budgets, infrastructure costs, and capital allocation

    • Manage strategic vendor relationships and technology partnerships

    • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions for platforms and systems

    • Ensure efficient use of engineering resources and cloud spending

    • Drive ROI-focused technology investments

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

    • Master’s degree (MS, MBA, or related) strongly preferred

    • 12+ years of progressive technology and engineering experience

    • 5+ years in executive leadership roles (CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent)

    • Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud platforms

    • Proven experience leading large-scale engineering organizations

    • Strong background in digital transformation and system modernization

    • Experience building scalable, high-performance technology platforms

    • Exceptional executive communication and leadership skills

    • Must currently reside in one of the approved locations listed above

    Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

    • Experience in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, or enterprise technology environments

    • Strong background in AI/ML, data platforms, or generative AI systems

    • Experience leading platform engineering, DevOps, and SRE organizations

    • Familiarity with regulatory or highly secure environments

    • Track record of scaling technology teams in high-growth organizations

    • Experience with M&A integration and technology consolidation

    • Strong financial acumen for technology budgeting and investment planning

    • Experience presenting to boards, investors, and external stakeholders
