    Key Responsibilities

    • Treatment Planning: Develop and optimize customized radiation therapy plans (e.g., for cancer patients) using computer modeling to deliver maximum tumor doses while protecting healthy tissue.

    • Equipment Calibration & QA: Test, calibrate, and maintain highly complex imaging and radiation devices (like Linear Accelerators, CT, and MRI scanners) to ensure peak accuracy and performance.

    • Radiation Safety - Designs shielding requirements, monitors radiation exposure levels, and enforces safety protocols for patients, staff and the environment

    • Dosimetry Calculations - Performs complex calculations to verify radiation dosages before, during and after treatments

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education: Requires either a Master''s or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a closely related scientific field.

    • Certification: Board certification by organizations such as the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
