CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER / COO - DEFENSE Manufacturing

GNR has been retained by a well-established, hi-tech Defense manufacturing organization seeking a “strategic” CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER / COO to assist in their aggressive expansion. The company has a very strong DEFENSE portfolio, a modern state-of-the-art facility, and is committed to expanding its operational capabilities & excellence.

You’ll play a significant role in the organization's growth, reporting directly to the CEO (seeking his successor!), you will manage a team of 10 within multiple disciplines that are very capable, positive & collaborative.

We’re looking for both a tactical & strategic OPERATIONS leader with a vision, who is “forward thinking” to improve & build a lean manufacturing center.

• Mitigate risks, increase capacity, improve production efficiency, advise / recommend and anticipate production requirements.
• Monitor and track day-to-day production, quality, engineering, and procurement.
• Proven leadership skills - business acumen is key to this position.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Solid understanding of DEFENSE related PROGRAMs, Product development & Manufacturing requirements: Assembly, Test, Compliance, Quality, Traceability, Supply chain/ & Procurement, Program costs, Gov’t / DoD customer engagement
• 12+ years of leadership in a Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical product environment with Mil-Stds / AS9100
• Proven examples of navigating Operations & Manufacturing challenges, aggressive growth and/or turn-around scenarios.
• Track & adjust operational metrics across multiple value streams, work closely with other disciplines to ensure deliverables are on time & in budget with the highest quality standards.
• Budgetary responsibilities >$100m and able to recommend & manage capital expenditures
• BS / MS / MBA – Business / Engineering / Technical – strong business acumen.
• US Citizenship – prior military service is a plus.
