LHH is assisting a mission-driven nonprofit organization who seeks an experienced operational executive to serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a key member of the executive leadership team. This individual will provide strategic and hands-on leadership across supply chain, logistics, warehousing, distribution, transportation, facilities, compliance, safety, and program operations, ensuring efficient service delivery while supporting organizational growth and community impact.
This person will:
Lead day-to-day organizational operations and drive strategic initiatives in partnership with the CEO.
Oversee supply chain, procurement, warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and distribution functions.
Establish operational KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace safety, transportation, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee facilities, fleet, equipment, asset management, and capital improvement projects.
Develop and mentor high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Partner on budget development, financial stewardship, and long-term organizational planning.
Represent the organization with community partners, vendors, government agencies, and key stakeholders.

Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Public Administration, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple business functions.
Strong background in supply chain, logistics, distribution, warehousing, transportation, or large-scale operational environments.
Experience managing budgets, performance metrics, and process improvement initiatives.
Proven leadership, communication, problem-solving, and change management skills.
Preferred:
Nonprofit, food distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or community service organization experience.
Knowledge of food safety, warehouse operations, and regulatory compliance.
Experience leading volunteer-supported operations.
MBA, MPA, or related advanced degree.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
