    Chief Operating Officer (COO)

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and optimize all day-to-day operational functions of the organization. This executive role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring efficient service delivery, scaling organizational capabilities, and aligning cross-functional execution with long-term business strategy.

    Location Requirement

    To support executive leadership collaboration and operational oversight, candidates must currently reside in one of the following metropolitan areas in the United States:

    • Dallas, Texas

    • Austin, Texas

    • Atlanta, Georgia

    • Jacksonville, Florida

    • Miami, Florida

    • Nashville, Tennessee

    • Charlotte, North Carolina

    • Phoenix, Arizona

    Candidates outside of these locations will not be considered.

    Key Responsibilities

    Enterprise Operations Leadership

    • Lead and oversee all day-to-day business operations across the organization

    • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with organizational goals

    • Ensure efficient, scalable, and high-quality service delivery across all business units

    • Establish operational standards, frameworks, and performance benchmarks

    • Drive continuous improvement in organizational processes and systems

    Operational Performance & Optimization

    • Monitor and improve key operational metrics across all departments

    • Identify inefficiencies and implement process optimization initiatives

    • Improve productivity, throughput, and service delivery timelines

    • Ensure operational scalability to support organizational growth

    • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement initiatives

    Cross-Functional Healthcare / Business Operations

    • Oversee coordination between clinical, financial, administrative, and support services

    • Ensure alignment between operational execution and strategic objectives

    • Improve patient care delivery workflows (if in healthcare environment)

    • Optimize service line performance and resource utilization

    • Ensure consistent execution across multi-site or enterprise operations

    Leadership & Organizational Development

    • Lead and mentor senior operational leaders including Directors and VPs

    • Build and scale high-performing operational teams

    • Drive workforce planning, leadership development, and succession strategies

    • Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement

    • Strengthen organizational structure and operational governance

    Financial & Resource Management

    • Partner with CFO to ensure operational efficiency and financial performance

    • Optimize cost structures while maintaining quality and service standards

    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation at the operational level

    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue-enhancing efficiencies

    • Ensure operational decisions support financial sustainability

    Executive Leadership & Strategy

    • Collaborate closely with CEO and executive leadership team on strategic planning

    • Translate corporate strategy into operational execution plans

    • Provide data-driven insights to guide executive decision-making

    • Represent operations in board-level and executive meetings

    • Drive alignment across all business functions and departments

    Process Improvement & Transformation

    • Lead large-scale operational transformation initiatives

    • Implement automation and digital solutions to improve efficiency

    • Drive standardization of processes across all business units

    • Improve service quality, consistency, and customer/patient experience

    • Champion innovation in operational design and delivery models

    Compliance, Risk & Quality Oversight

    • Ensure operational compliance with regulatory and industry standards

    • Oversee risk management and mitigation strategies across operations

    • Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation processes

    • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational policies

    • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams on governance matters

    Crisis Management & Business Continuity

    • Lead operational response during emergencies, disruptions, or crises

    • Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans

    • Ensure operational resilience during system-wide or external disruptions

    • Coordinate cross-functional response during critical incidents

    • Maintain continuity of services under high-pressure conditions

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, or related field

    • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or related) strongly preferred

    • 12+ years of progressive operational leadership experience

    • 5+ years in senior executive roles (COO, SVP Operations, VP Operations, or equivalent)

    • Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-site, or enterprise operations

    • Strong background in process improvement, operational strategy, and organizational leadership

    • Excellent communication, leadership, and executive decision-making skills

    • Must currently reside in one of the approved locations listed above

    Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

    • Experience in healthcare, hospital systems, or regulated industries

    • Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence methodologies

    • Experience managing complex service delivery environments

    • Familiarity with financial management and revenue cycle collaboration

    • Experience leading digital transformation or enterprise system implementations

    • Strong data analytics and performance management capabilities

    • Experience working with boards, investors, or executive governance structures

    • Background in scaling high-growth organizations or turnaround environments
