LifeBridge Health is seeking an accomplished, board-certified neurologist to serve as Chief of Neurology for the renowned Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.

This executive physician leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of neurological care across one of Maryland's largest integrated health systems. The Chief of Neurology will provide strategic, clinical, operational, and financial leadership for a comprehensive neurology service line while maintaining an active clinical practice.

The Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurological care through an integrated multidisciplinary team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, rehabilitation specialists, advanced practice providers, and other medical experts dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Position Highlights

As Chief of Neurology, you will:

  • Lead strategic growth and development of the Neurology Service Line across the health system.
  • Direct clinical, operational, quality, and financial performance initiatives.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of neurologists and advanced practice providers.
  • Expand innovative neuroscience programs, including stroke and teleneurology services.
  • Maintain an active inpatient and outpatient clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to advance neuroscience services and improve patient access.

Primary Responsibilities

Executive & Physician Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Neurology Service Line across multiple hospitals and clinical sites.
  • Partner with executive leadership, hospital administration, and medical staff to support organizational goals.
  • Serve as the primary physician leader for neurology program development, operational excellence, and service line growth.
  • Mentor physician leaders, neurologists, and administrative teams to foster professional development and clinical excellence.
  • Recruit, onboard, credential, and retain outstanding neurology physicians.
  • Promote collaboration among physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Lead strategic planning, business development initiatives, and physician engagement efforts.
  • Oversee the financial performance, budgeting, and long-term sustainability of the Neurology Service Line.

Clinical Quality & Program Development

  • Establish and maintain evidence-based clinical protocols aligned with national standards, including AHA/ASA Stroke Guidelines and NAEC recommendations.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, peer review, FPPE/OPPE processes, accreditation readiness, and performance improvement programs.
  • Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, and operational performance across inpatient and outpatient neurology services.
  • Support expansion of stroke, neurohospitalist, tele-neurology, epilepsy, and other neuroscience programs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining the highest standards of patient-centered neurological care.

Clinical Practice

  • Maintain an active inpatient and outpatient neurology practice.
  • Serve as a senior clinical resource for complex neurological cases.
  • Model excellence in patient care, documentation, communication, and physician collaboration.
  • Partner with emergency medicine, hospital medicine, critical care, rehabilitation, nursing, and specialty physicians to ensure coordinated neurological care.
  • Participate in physician education, case conferences, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO (or international equivalent such as MBBS)
  • Board Certification in Neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
  • Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (eligibility for Maryland licensure)
  • Minimum of 7 years of clinical neurology experience
  • At least 5 years of physician leadership experience as a Division Chief, Medical Director, Chief of Neurology, Service Line Leader, or similar leadership role
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary physician teams
  • Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and relationship-building skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MHA, MPH, or other advanced leadership degree
  • Experience developing or expanding teleneurology, stroke, or neuroscience service lines
  • Experience with Joint Commission, DNV, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Primary Stroke Center, or other quality and accreditation programs
  • Strong financial management and physician practice leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, physician recruitment, and program growth
