The CFO will provide financial leadership that strengthens organizational sustainability, supports informed decision-making, and helps position CCS for continued impact and growth throughout southern Arizona.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and Executive Management Team, providing data-driven analysis, recommendations, and financial leadershipLead all Finance functions, including accounting, financial reporting (GAAP), budgeting and forecasting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and internal controlsOversee government contract compliance, grant accounting, Medicaid billing, and revenue cycle management across a diverse, multi-funder portfolioManage cash, liquidity, investments, and banking relationships, and provide regular reporting to the CEO and Finance Committee of the BoardDirect the monthly financial close, preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow), and variance analysis with clear management commentaryLead the annual budget process in partnership with Program Directors, with ongoing forecasting and KPI reportingCoordinate annual audit, Form 990, and all compliance and regulatory reporting requirementsRecruit, develop, and lead a high-performing Finance teamRepresent CCS to financial institutions, auditors, funders, government partners, and other external stakeholdersQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required12-15+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally beginning in public accounting auditDemonstrated success leading finance in a complex nonprofit with $15M+ budget and multiple funding sources (government contracts, grants, Medicaid)Deep knowledge of fund accounting, GAAP for nonprofits (ASC 958), government contract and grant compliance (Uniform Guidance / 2 CFR 200)Experience with Form 990 and 501(c)(3) tax mattersStrong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsHigh sense of urgency, integrity, and a continuous improvement mindsetPreferredPrior CFO experienceMaster's degree in Business, Finance, or AccountingExperience with Medicaid billing and revenue cycle managementExperience selecting and implementing financial and ERP software systemsWhy join CCS?This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for a finance executive who is motivated by mission and wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and families across southern Arizona.
