    About the Opportunity
    A rapidly growing, mid-sized construction services company is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. This organization operates within an employee-owned (ESOP) structure and is entering a significant phase of geographic and operational expansion.

    The CFO will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, driving operational performance, and supporting long-term value creation for employee-owners.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Finance & Leadership
    • Partner with executive leadership to define and execute long-term financial strategy
    • Provide actionable financial insights to support growth initiatives and expansion
    • Evaluate investments, capital allocation, and operational performance

    Financial Operations & Reporting
    • Oversee all accounting, finance, tax, treasury, and reporting functions
    • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes
    • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting

    Cash Flow & Capital Management
    • Manage liquidity, working capital, and banking relationships
    • Oversee debt structures, credit facilities, and financial risk management
    • Support capital planning and funding strategies

    Executive Partnership
    • Present financial results and forecasts to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders
    • Serve as a key advisor on financial and operational decisions

    Team Leadership & Infrastructure
    • Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team
    • Build scalable systems, processes, and controls to support growth
    • Drive accountability and performance across the finance function

    ESOP Oversight
    • Manage financial aspects of the employee ownership structure
    • Coordinate valuations, compliance, and repurchase obligations
    • Partner with external advisors and support internal communication initiatives

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA and/or CPA preferred)
    • Proven experience in senior financial leadership (CFO, VP Finance, or Controller)
    • Strong background in construction, project-based, or subcontracting environments
    • Expertise in job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting
    • Experience supporting high-growth organizations and scaling operations
    • Prior ESOP experience strongly preferred
    • ERP experience (NetSuite or similar) preferred
    • Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and business acumen
