The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the systems financial goals and ensures sound financial practices and reporting systems across the organization. The CFO is responsible for leading the revenue cycle operations, supporting the CEO in the implementation of growth-oriented strategies and optimizing the organizationsfinancial performance. The CFO directs the hospitals financial reporting process and provides regular reports to the Board and hospital management on the finances. The CFO also ensures adequate capital resources to support the organizations growth and is responsible for the performance of the patient accounting functions, managed care contracting and hospital purchasing programs. As a member of the hospital executive team, the CFO is responsible for creating an environment that results in high levels of financial and clinical performance, recruitment and retention of physicians and hospital staff, and the continued growth and development of services to meet community health care needs. The CFO will also develop and maintain positive relations with various community constituents and leaders throughout the hospitals service region. Required Qualifications for the CFO: - CPA or MBA in Finance required. - FHFMA preferred. - Minimum of fiveyears leadership experience in hospital or health care financial position. CFO experience preferred. - Strong working knowledge of GAAP, health care policy, revenue cycle operations, reimbursement and regulatory environment. - Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital management and staff, Board of Directors, medical staff and community. - Exceptional communication and business development skills to convey and engage active support for the hospitals mission, vision and strategic goals. - Demonstrated experience and expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, managed care and other payer processes, negotiations and agreements. - Creativity, vision and leadership skills to support the CEO and Governing Board in the development and implementation of growth oriented strategies in collaboration with the medical community.
