POSITION OVERVIEW
As a
Chief Executive Officer , your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Provide executive leadership and full operational responsibility for the hospital.
- Develop, implement, and achieve the hospital's strategic business plan in partnership with the governing body.
- Oversee quality of care, staff development, licensure, accreditation, financial performance, and continuous performance improvement.
- Lead annual operating and capital budget development and strategic business planning.
- Manage daily hospital operations to achieve patient care, financial, regulatory, business development, and medical staff compliance objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, local businesses, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
- Evaluate, develop, coach, and retain the leadership team.
- Recruit psychiatrists and allied health professionals to expand service offerings.
- Lead payer contract negotiations, contract compliance, revenue generation, and growth.
- Develop a comprehensive continuum of care, including outpatient and community-based programs.
- Ensure continuous survey readiness, regulatory compliance, QAPI, patient safety, and corrective action initiatives.
- Provide accurate and timely Governing Board reporting.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, employee retention, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate
Chief Executive Officer who enjoys their work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal
Chief Executive Officer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Marketing, Clinical, or related discipline.
- MBA/MHA preferred.
- 3 5+ years of senior leadership or CEO experience in a behavioral health, acute care, and/or managed care environment.
- Strong behavioral health hospital administration and clinical operations experience.
- Proven experience leading licensure, accreditation, regulatory compliance, and Joint Commission surveys.
- Full hospital operational and P&L responsibility, including financial management and business development.
- Experience leading QAPI, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory corrective action plans.
- Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain clinical and medical professionals.
- Strong experience in talent recruitment, employee retention, and culture building.
- Experience with marketing and community engagement.
- Behavioral health hospital startup or expansion experience preferred.
- Joint venture experience preferred.
- Strong census growth and operational improvement experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
