My client provides specialty contracting services to clients in the Commercial and Industrial markets with regards to concrete. They focus on cast-in-place concrete slabs, foundations, and other structural concrete work across the Southeast. Most of their projects are on the smaller side, ranging from $500K - $5M in individual value. They specialize in this smaller size in order to capitalize on margins and reward the team with bonuses accordingly. This company, with 5 total offices and over 300 employees, has built an excellent culture that is supportive, rewarding, and innovative. Job Description
Reporting directly into the Regional Manager, the main duties and responsibilities of the Chief Estimator / VP will be:
- Estimate from both concept designs and complete designs
- Completion of all aspects of project bidding including plan and specification takeoff, pricing, and client communication / follow-up
- Assist with the development, updating and implementation of an estimating database with assemblies
- Assist or lead the process of implementation of estimating program software system
- Maintain a cost history data base
- Review rewarded bids with Construction team to ensure budget accuracy and resource allocation
- Interact with owner-clients and General Contractors to build and maintain relationships
- As team grows, lead the development efforts for less experienced Estimating staff

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction-related area, or equivalent hands-on experience with a structural concrete background
- 8+ years in concrete estimating
- Exceptional knowledge of cast-in-place concrete concepts, processes, and functions
- Hands on construction experience in an advantage
- Extremely good communication and team-building skills
- Desire to grow with an organization and stay local to the Memphis area
