Chief Engineer – EVEN Hotel | Omaha, NE
Salary: $45,000–$60,000 per year, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time

EVEN Hotel in Omaha is seeking an experienced, dependable Chief Engineer to manage and perform the hotel’s maintenance work. This hands-on position is responsible for keeping the property safe, well-maintained, and ready for guests.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, and hotel equipment.
  • Complete preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, and building systems.
  • Maintain pool equipment and water quality in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
  • Inspect the property regularly and address maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Coordinate outside contractors when needed and maintain repair records, supplies, and equipment.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to prioritize repairs and control maintenance expenses.
  • Be available on call 24/7 and respond to emergency maintenance issues, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel maintenance experience required.
  • Must hold a current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or be willing to obtain certification.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall repair, and general building maintenance.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be available on call 24/7.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform physical maintenance work, including lifting, climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods.
