Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders. - Capable of handling matters in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner to establish and maintain good public relations. - Understands and is able to clearly articulate Business Services legal issues both orally and in written form. - Comprehensive knowledge of applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and compliance requirements governing Business Services. - Ability to analyze complex situations and prepare response alternatives for consideration by the Cabinet and Board of Education. - Capable of dealing with confrontation in an assertive yet empathic manner, communicating both strength and compassion. - Ability to multitask complex situations bearing potential serious legal and fiscal implications. - Knowledge of principles, trends and development of business and fiscal administration and management; accounting principles and practices, budgeting and other fiscal procedures as they apply to school finance; provisions of California Education Code relative to school finance. - Ability to formulate plans and policies and to organize, coordinate and direct the work of others; to delegate responsibility; evaluate and supervise personnel; develop and maintain effective working relationships with others. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: 1. Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field. 2. Four years of professional management experience in a responsible administration position performing management, business and/or fiscal planning and support services. 3. Chief Business Official (CBO) Certification from CASBO or ACSA. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master's degree in business administration and/or related field. 2. Public school (K-12) business operations experience or related public agency experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1. Valid California driver's license; must be and remain insurable under California state requirements in order to operate personal vehicle. FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED DOCUMENTS WILL RESULT IN APPLICANT BEING SCREENED OUT:
