About the Role:
Personnel Services Unlimited is hiring a Chemical Operator I for a manufacturing client in Kings Mountain, NC. This position ensures chemical batches are properly filtered, packaged, and labeled to meet quality standards.
What You'll Do:
- Filter and package QC-approved materials per process order instructions
- Fill containers to correct weights and apply product labels
- Accurately record yields, container consumption, and inventory
- Process re-packs of materials and complete required forms
- Assist with batch-building and operate automated filling equipment
- Operate a forklift as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow RCRA waste handling and safety/emergency response procedures
- Scan batch tickets into SAP using an RF scanner
- Train other employees as needed
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Manufacturing or chemical experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow written/verbal instructions in English
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Must obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move objects up to 2,500 lbs. with proper equipment
- Must pass a satisfactory criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening as a condition of employment; candidates are evaluated individually and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws
Work Environment:
- Open production facility with variable temperatures (32°F–100°F)
- Exposure to fumes/odors (irritant classification only, no toxic fumes)
- Required PPE: safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, face shield/dust mask, protective sleeves/coveralls, respirator, and gloves as needed
