Description
Responsibilities:
- Analyse manufacturing processes, cycle times, changeovers, and production bottlenecks to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, and workflow efficiency.
- Execute new product introductions and process scale-up activities, including trial planning, process parameter development, production runs, and performance validation.
- Apply process engineering principles and mixing technologies to improve batch consistency, product quality, and manufacturing reliability.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, control plans, and standard operating procedures that support First Pass Yield (FPY) and quality objectives.
- Perform process validation studies, collect and analyse manufacturing data, and prepare documentation supporting quality and compliance requirements.
- Investigate process-related product and customer concerns using root cause analysis methodologies and implement corrective actions to improve long-term process stability.
- Utilise Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement techniques to identify opportunities for reducing process variation and waste.
- Maintain process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, validation records, and engineering change documentation to ensure traceability and process control.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to improve manufacturing performance and support business objectives.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or chemical manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting specialty chemicals, adhesives, coatings, polymers, or related manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, SPC, process validation, PFMEA, and control plan development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing data and implement process improvements.
- Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools; JD Edwards experience is advantageous.
- Strong technical writing, project coordination, and cross-functional communication abilities.
- Comfortable working in both manufacturing floor and office environments with a hands-on approach to engineering support.
- Organised, detail-oriented professional with excellent follow-through and a continuous improvement mindset.
