Job Summary:

Join Our Culinary Team: Chef Manager Wanted!

Are you a growth-minded culinary leader ready to take full ownership of a thriving food service operation? We're looking for a passionate Chef Manager to join Canteen and lead both the culinary and operational sides of our business - from the kitchen to the bottom line.

About the Role

As Chef Manager, you'll have full culinary management of the operation, blending creative menu development with sound business acumen. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves great food, values sustainability, and takes pride in running a tight, well-managed kitchen.

What You'll Do

  • Own Culinary Operations: Manage all aspects of the food service operation, including inventory, ordering, and receiving.
  • Drive Financial Performance: Apply P&L accountability to keep the operation running efficiently and profitably.
  • Craft Standout Menus: Lead menu development with a focus on cost control, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Champion Local & Sustainable Sourcing: Bring a genuine passion for sustainability by sourcing and featuring local food products.
  • Deliver Exposition-Style Excellence: Bring your exposition cooking skills to create an engaging, high-quality dining experience.
  • Uphold Food Safety Standards: Apply strong HACCP knowledge to maintain safe, sanitary kitchen operations.

What You Bring

  • Three or more years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining, or restaurant settings, with strong inventory and purchasing knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP food safety standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a sharp eye for quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Experience with exposition cooking.
  • P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience desirable.
  • ServSafe certification a plus.
