    Description

    Goodlettsville Pediatrics, a division of Summit Medical Group, has an opening for a Check-in Clerk. The ideal candidate maintains interdepartmental work flow by answering and processing phone calls received, routing all messages to appropriate staff, processing patient's check in, scanning information into patient charts, prepares charts for next day's appointments and prints schedules as needed.

    This is a Full-time opportunity.

    Responsibilities: (List does not include all duties assigned)

    • Greets patients and checks-in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the medical records/database, performs all registration functions and collects copays and balances due as appropriate.
    • Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties, or other needs, as appropriate.
    • Customer service oriented.
    • Maintains computerized scheduling and follows office scheduling policies.
    • Files charts and coordinates lab work as requested.
    • Answers and screens telephone calls, takes messages, and provides appropriate information to phone callers as well as handling outgoing phone calls as appropriate (e.g., appointment confirmations, referral calls, pre-certs, etc.)
    • Assists with charge entry, and /or coding issues, and other related work if requested.
    • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
    • Knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation needed to process patient information along with the ability to file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric processes.
    • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.

    Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.

    Experience: Minimum of 2-years' experience working in a busy outpatient clinic setting.

    Must Possess -

    Extensive knowledge of group Health Insurance Companies' billing processes and procedures.

    Proven ability to discuss balances owed, explain Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and collect money face-to-face.

    Knowledge of Hippa Privacy Laws

    Possess the ability to multi-task in an extremely busy setting.
