Mission
We are seeking a Chassis Quality Engineer to support Stellantis vehicle programs. The engineer will investigate and resolve complex quality concerns involving brakes, steering, suspension, wheels, tires, and related chassis systems across manufacturing, testing, and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Issue Investigation: Investigate chassis-related quality issues identified in manufacturing assembly plants, warranty claims, testing facilities, and customer feedback.
Root-Cause Analysis: Lead root-cause problem solving using 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, and other structured quality tools.
Cross-Functional Resolution: Coordinate containment and issue resolution with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and stakeholders.
Lifecycle Tracking: Track quality concerns from initial identification through containment, validation, and final closure.
Documentation Review: Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, control plans, and validation results.
Launch & Build Support: Support prototype vehicle builds, launch events, plant inspections, and formal quality reviews.
Data Analytics: Analyze warranty data and quality metrics to identify trends, pareto priorities, and systemic improvement opportunities.
Supplier Quality Management: Partner with Tier-1 suppliers to address component quality concerns and verify corrective action implementation.
Executive Presentations: Prepare and present quality status updates, risk assessments, containment plans, and permanent corrective actions to management.
Profile
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of automotive engineering, quality, manufacturing, or validation experience.
Chassis Expertise: Core knowledge of chassis systems (brakes, steering, suspension, wheels, or tires).
Quality Tools: Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, 8D methodologies, and root-cause analysis.
Print Reading: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
Travel: Ability to work onsite and travel to assembly plants or supplier locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting Stellantis vehicle programs or assembly facilities.
Direct background in vehicle launches, warranty analysis, or supplier quality engineering.
Familiarity with Stellantis quality management platforms and issue-tracking systems.
Knowledge of IATF 16949 standards and automotive quality management requirements.
