Job Description
Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive project bids for commercial construction projects. Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate budgets and proposals. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing. Identify and pursue new project opportunities alongside company leadership. Participate in preconstruction planning, budgeting, and value engineering efforts. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners. Support the transition of awarded projects to the operations team. Track market pricing, material costs, and labor trends to ensure estimate accuracy. Collaborate with leadership on strategic growth initiatives and business development efforts. Travel to project sites and client meetings within approximately a two-hour radius of Grover, NC.
The Successful Applicant
A successful applicant should have: 5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor. Experience estimating light industrial, commercial, retail, restaurant, church, or renovation/upfit projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, subcontractor scopes, and project budgeting. Ability to review plans, specifications, and bid documents with a high degree of accuracy. Proven experience developing subcontractor and client relationships. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office products. Experience with preconstruction services and business development is highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
