    Charge Registered Nurse PAT at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club:

    • Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, Supervisor and Director, the nurse is responsible for documenting the patient history, current medications, performs pre-admission diagnostic testing as ordered, and provides pre-operative instruction and teaching
    • The PAT nurse is responsible for implementing physician orders, communicating with the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist any pertinent patient information, providing patient safety, comfort and privacy at all times.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
    • BSN preferred

    Licensure/Certification:

    • Current Texas RN License
    • BLS, must get ACLS within 30 days' hire

    Required Experience:

    • Minimum two (2) years' experience as a RN in a clinical setting

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Demonstrates knowledge and skill level necessary to assess patient's psychosocial, educational and physical needs, as well as the ability to address these needs in an age appropriate manner in the pediatric, adolescent, adult and/ or geriatric patient population.
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Strong assessment and interview skills
    • Good organization habits.
    • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge vase relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
    • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit
    • Excellent teaching skills
    • Experience with Electronic Healthcare Records

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs direct patient care within scope of RN practice and according to hospital policies and procedures.
    • Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients based on individual, specific patient needs, and according to physician's orders
    • Responds quickly and appropriately to emergency situations.
    • Identifies educational needs, implements and evaluates learning and documents patient / family education.
    • Responds to patients presenting to hospital with healthcare need and perform MSE follows policies and procedures for follow-up.
    • Follows all documentation policies
