    What We Offer:

    Chaplain Resident

    Location: New Hanover Regional Medical Center - Wilmington, NC 
    Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional on-call shifts
    Start Date: September 8, 2026  (12 month commitment)

     

    Are you ready to deepen your spiritual care skills and make a meaningful impact on patients, families, and healthcare teams? As a Chaplain Resident at Novant Health, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients and their loved ones by addressing their unique spiritual, emotional, and social needs.

     

    What You'll Do:

     

    This residency offers a dynamic blend of hands-on clinical experience and structured educational opportunities aligned with ACPE standards and the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. You’ll provide compassionate spiritual support to patients, families, and Novant Health team members, while participating in didactic seminars, curriculum development, and mentorship designed to grow your professional skills.

     

    What We're Looking for:

     

    • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree  or an equivalent degree or equivalent graduate degree, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of one unit of ACPE accredited CPE; preferably in a healthcare setting, preferred. Roles requiring communication across disciplines, preferred.
    • Licensure/Certification: Connected with a faith community to potentially seek endorsement, commissioning, and or ordination, required.
    • Additional Skills (required): Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
