Location: Kalamazoo, MI (Hybrid: 2 3 Days Onsite)
Training: First 30 days will need to be mostly onsite for training and shadowing
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Change Control & Data Retrieval/Collection Specialist to support Product Environmental Compliance (PEC) initiatives across hardware and instrument product portfolios. In this hybrid role, you will manage cross-functional data retrieval, lead Enterprise Change Notices (ECNs) within Quality and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, and partner with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure adherence to global environmental regulations.
This position is ideal for a collaborative, analytical problem-solver who excels at navigating complex datasets, tracing material declarations across enterprise systems, and translating regulatory requirements into actionable compliance documentation within regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute data retrieval and collection across internal systems (PLM, ERP, QMS) and external supplier networks to support global environmental compliance standards (REACH, RoHS, PFAS, PPWR).
  • Compile, cleanse, and validate complex material and component datasets to ensure data integrity, traceability, and audit-readiness for regulatory submissions.
  • Author and manage Enterprise Change Notices (ECNs) within the Quality Management System (QMS) to implement design, material, and documentation updates resulting from compliance findings.
  • Coordinate supplier engagement and outreach to request, track, and verify material declarations, full material disclosures (FMD), and compliance certifications.
  • Perform data gap assessments, identify missing or inconsistent compliance attributes, and drive issue resolution across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Translate evolving regulatory requirements into specific data collection criteria, documentation evidence, and reporting attributes.
  • Maintain project tracking tools, PMO dashboards, and status reports to provide real-time visibility into compliance progress and program risks.
  • Serve as Change Owner as needed, coordinating execution plans to ensure change implementation aligns with strict regulatory deadlines.
  • Standardize data collection templates, workflows, and operating procedures to improve the scalability and efficiency of compliance programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
  • Data & Technical Capabilities: Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, cleanse, and validate complex technical datasets from disparate enterprise databases.
  • Core Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication capabilities for collaborating across global cross-functional teams.
  • Location & Work Schedule: Ability to work onsite 2 to 3 days per week at the Kalamazoo, MI facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience in Product Environmental Compliance (PEC) regulations (e.g., EU REACH, RoHS, PFAS, TSCA, EU PPWR).
  • Hands-on experience with Engineering Change Control, ECN/ECO processing, or change management workflows within a regulated manufacturing environment (Medical Device, Aerospace, Automotive, or Electronics).
  • Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms (e.g., Windchill, PTC, Agile) and QMS systems.
  • Proven track record in supplier outreach, material declaration tracking, and compliance vendor management.
