Title: CFRE 2026 Summer Student Research Technician

Job Summary/Basic Function:
CFRE is seeking applicants for 12-15 summer positions to support ongoing research activity. Projects include the following:
Great Lakes Coastal Wetland monitoring
Lake sturgeon research
St. Marys River water level changes
Oil spill research--biology and chemistry
Applicants for research projects should be comfortable in and around water, tolerant of biting insects and harsh weather.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work outside in various conditions, good driving record, valid drivers license, positive attitude, comfortable working in and around water. Prior to beginning, all students will be expected to complete a Boater's Safety training, which is available on-line if you have not done so already.
Preferred Qualifications:
Students who are working on or are interested in working on a senior research project connected to the above projects will receive hiring priority. Federal Work study students are desirable!
