    Description

    Chief Financial Officer

    We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership for a complex organization. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will oversee financial operations, ensure fiscal integrity, and develop strategies that support long-term organizational sustainability.

    As a member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will partner with senior leaders, governing stakeholders, financial institutions, and external partners on strategic and financial initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Executive & Financial Leadership

    • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO and executive leadership.
    • Develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
    • Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash management, payroll, investments, debt, and financial reporting.
    • Lead annual operating and capital budget processes and monitor financial performance.
    • Oversee monthly and year-end close, audits, tax reporting, and regulatory filings.
    • Present financial results, forecasts, and recommendations to executive leadership and governing stakeholders.

    Operations & Risk

    • Oversee procurement, contracting, property, and enterprise risk management functions.
    • Maintain effective financial policies, internal controls, and compliance processes.
    • Manage banking, investment, and other key external relationships.
    • Evaluate financing strategies and support capital projects and strategic initiatives.

    Leadership

    • Lead, mentor, and develop finance and administrative teams.
    • Establish performance expectations and promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Support organizational planning and cross-functional initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
    • 10+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
    • MBA, master's degree, and/or CPA preferred.
    • Broad experience with accounting, budgeting, treasury, financial reporting, audits, and strategic financial planning.
    • Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership and governing bodies.
    • Experience in a nonprofit, governmental, public-sector, or similarly complex organization preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
    • Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
    • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
    • Ability to meet applicable employment and background-screening requirements.
