Description

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Bourbon, Indiana | Fully Onsite | $140,000–$160,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial direction and continued growth of a manufacturing organization in Bourbon, Indiana. This is an opportunity for a true financial leader who has grown their career within manufacturing, understands the operational side of the business, and can help take an organization to the next level.

The ideal candidate is both a visionary and a hands-on leader. They will provide strategic financial guidance, develop and mentor a strong accounting and finance team, drive process improvements, and partner closely with executive leadership to support long-term business objectives. At the same time, this individual must be comfortable getting into the details of the business, working through day-to-day financial challenges, and rolling up their sleeves when needed.

Experience leading an ERP implementation and working within NetSuite is highly important. We are looking for someone who can bring structure, improve systems and processes, and build a finance function that supports the organization's next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, providing insight and recommendations to drive business performance and profitability.

  • Lead all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning and analysis.

  • Develop and execute long-term financial strategies that align with organizational goals and support continued growth.

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and compliance.

  • Lead and manage the finance and accounting team, developing talent, establishing accountability, and building a high-performing department.

  • Drive financial visibility across manufacturing operations through cost accounting, inventory management, margin analysis, pricing, and operational performance reporting.

  • Lead and support ERP implementation initiatives, ensuring systems and processes are aligned with business needs and provide accurate, actionable financial information.

  • Leverage NetSuite to improve financial reporting, data integrity, automation, and overall accounting efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, operational efficiency, and stronger financial controls.

  • Partner with operations, production, purchasing, and other department leaders to evaluate performance and improve profitability.

  • Establish and monitor key financial and operational KPIs to support informed business decisions.

  • Maintain a hands-on approach to daily financial operations, stepping into the details when necessary while keeping a strategic focus on the future.

  • Build scalable financial processes, systems, and infrastructure to support the organization's long-term growth.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated career progression within manufacturing, with a strong understanding of plant operations and financial performance.

  • Previous experience in a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, or senior financial leadership role.

  • Proven experience leading an ERP implementation from planning through execution.

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting, inventory, standard costing, margins, and operational financial analysis.

  • Extensive experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic financial modeling.

  • Demonstrated success building, developing, and leading accounting and finance teams.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial information into actionable recommendations.

  • Experience driving process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and improving financial reporting capabilities.

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a true leader and visionary who can see where the business needs to go and build the financial strategy to get it there. Someone who has come up through manufacturing, understands the connection between operations and financial performance, and knows how to build a strong team.

This individual should be strategic without being removed from the day-to-day business. They must be comfortable working directly with leadership, challenging the status quo, developing people, and getting into the weeds when necessary. The right person will bring fresh perspective, strong financial discipline, and the leadership needed to help drive the organization into its next stage of growth.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on, growth-minded CFO to make a meaningful impact on the direction and future of the organization.
