Part-Time Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

Veterinary Urgent Care Center (VUCC) - Worcester is looking to add a Part-Time Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to our growing team! About the Hospital

Our four-doctor urgent care hospital bridges the gap between general practice and emergency medicine by treating non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in dogs and cats. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care while delivering an outstanding client experience.

Conditions We Commonly Treat

  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Ear and skin infections
  • Lameness and minor injuries
  • Allergic reactions
  • Wounds and abscesses
  • Urinary concerns
  • Minor surgical procedures
  • In-house diagnostics and imaging

Depending on the veterinarian on duty, we may also see select exotic pets.

What You'll Do

As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you'll be an essential member of our medical team, utilizing your skills every day in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Triage urgent care patients
  • Obtain patient histories and perform treatments
  • Place IV catheters and collect laboratory samples
  • Assist with diagnostics and imaging
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with minor surgical procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments
  • Communicate with clients regarding treatment plans and home care
  • Collaborate closely with doctors to provide efficient, high-quality patient care

Your Impact as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician

Note: The Credentialed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state's Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

  • Utilize Your Full Skillset: You'll be a vital part of the medical team, providing comprehensive patient care, including administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and performing lab work.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • A current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
  • A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
  • One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
