What You’ll Do
Your primary role will be dedicated to small animal nursing, with a heavy emphasis on surgical preparation, advanced monitoring, and patient safety:
- Anesthesia Mastery: Confidently induce, monitor, and recover small animal patients for a variety of surgical or dental procedures.
- Patient Nursing Care: Place IV catheters, manage fluid therapy, calculate precise drug dosages, and utilize advanced clinical equipment (such as our therapy laser).
- Advanced Diagnostics: Perform digital radiography, collect diverse lab samples, and run comprehensive in-house bloodwork.
- Client Service: Act as a critical liaison to educate pet owners on detailed treatment plans and post-operative discharge instructions.
- Note: While your daily focus is small animal, you will enjoy working in a vibrant mixed-animal environment alongside our dedicated equine team!
What We’re Looking For
- Certification: Active, good-standing certification as a Veterinary Technician in Wisconsin (CVT), OR recent graduates from an AVMA-accredited program who are VTNE-eligible / pending board exam results.
- Skills: Strong proficiency (or a desire to be mentored) in small animal anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, and surgical prep.
