The Central Sterile Technician prepares Operating Room surgical case carts, decontamination, assembly and sterilization of re-processable supplies, equipment and surgical instruments in compliance with good hospital practice standards under direct or indirect supervision.
· Properly operate cleaning and sterilization equipment, such as cart washers, sonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and heat-sealing units.
· You will demonstrate proper knowledge and understanding of all chemicals, detergents, and other cleaning and/or disinfecting agents used in the department.
· Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and skill in assembly of trays and peel packs, to include identification of contents, internal chemical indicators, lot control numbers, wrapping, labeling and methods of sterilization.
· Transport clean and soiled case carts between the operating rooms and Sterile Processing. Transport additional instrumentation as needed between Peri-operative Services and CSP areas.
· Maintain cleanliness and appropriate supply levels at workstations in all areas of department
