Location: Forsyth Medical Center
Forsyth Medical Center has 17 main ORs with a variety of service lines to include: General, Gynecology, Urology, Da Vinci Robotic, Ortho, Neuro, Spines, Vascular, Hearts and Lungs. Forsyth Medical Center also covers more than 12 NORA Sites outside of the main OR, which include ERCP, Bronchoscopy, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, MRI, CT, EP lab and Cardiac Noninvasive Lab.
Team members must regularly participate in all main OR Anesthesia and NORA cases. Additionally, team members will make up designated specialty teams such as Cardiac, Neuro, and Neonatal teams.
Must participate in call coverage if part of the facility scheduling model. Team member participates in at least one department committee and/or department project once per fiscal year. All team members will practice within the full scope of their CRNA privileges.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: BSN, MSN, DNP, and/or graduate diploma level certification required. Graduate from both an Accredited School of Nursing and School of Nurse Anesthesia. Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and recognized by the state of practice as a CRNA. Must meet minimum continuing education requirements every four years of the NBCRNA, required.
- Experience: Previous experience is not necessary. Four to six week orientation period (working with preceptor) is required. Orientation period will depend on previous experience and clinical skills.
- Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. Current CRNA endorsement in appropriate state, required. NBCRNA certification, required. ACLS certification within NH policy, required. BLS certification within NH policy, required. PALS certification within NH policy, required.
- Additional Skills (required): Must have extensive knowledge of current anesthetic agents, techniques, drugs and equipment. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify the anesthetic plan of care suitable to patient age. Must have considerable ability to make independent decisions, sometimes under stress, and to maintain a professional demeanor with patients, coworkers and physicians. Must be able to provide anesthesia care for all case types (excluding specialty teams such as heart and neonatal teams)

- Deliver safe and effective anesthesia care to pediatrics through geriatric populations
- Administer anesthetics for a wide variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures
- Monitor patients throughout anesthesia and recovery
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and surgical teams
- Adjust anesthetic plans as needed based on changing patient status
- Practice independently within full CRNA scope of privileges
- Float between sites based on staffing needs and patient volume
