Cahaba Dermatology is seeking an experienced phlebotomist to join our growing healthcare team. Our phlebotomists will perform routine blood draws and assist with medical office tasks. Phlebotomist Job Responsibilities - Performs routine blood draws
- Ensures specimen centrifugation and storage requirements are maintained through the pre-analytical process
- Delivers samples to lab technical testing departments for analysis
- Verifies and documents patient demographics, insurance information, lab orders, provider information, etc., in EMR system
- Interacts with patients and customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Assists in maintaining lab and clinic supplies inventory
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Position Qualifications Required: - High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong work ethic and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven experience as a phlebotomist
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Strict adherence to safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
- Must be willing to travel to Tuscaloosa & Cahaba Heights locations as needed
Preferred - Phlebotomy Technician certification or license
- Medical Assistant Certification
- One year of inpatient phlebotomy experience in an acute care setting
- Dermatology experience
- EHR/EMR experience, specifically ModMed/EMA
