About the Role:Mental Health Pros by VABODE is looking for a compassionate and driven Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities:- Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals navigating mental health and/or substance use recovery
- Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans and setting achievable wellness goals
- Connect clients with community resources, support groups, and social services
- Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare and social service systems
- Document client interactions, progress notes, and service activities in accordance with agency standards
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups and peer support sessions
- Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and community partners to ensure coordinated care
Requirements:- Active Virginia Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification required
- Personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care and trauma-informed practices
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing empathetic peer support
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication purposes
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
