Description
Busy, local construction company is looking for a Certified Payroll Specialist to add to their team! This payroll specialist be responsible for managing the entire payroll process. Below are some of the functions this payroll specialist will perform:
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process payroll accurately and efficiently for approximately 35 to 40 employees
Process Certified Payroll, including weekly report, fringe benefits and training fund contribution to the DIR website
Administration of the employee 401k retirement benefits through Principal along with employees medical, dental and vision benefits
Complete EDD unemployment requests
Process employees leave paperwork and requests for time off
Coordinate between payroll, HR and other departments
Prepare detail reports, overtime, leave balances, head count and retirement contribution plans
Verifies and submits temporary employee timesheets to staffing agency
This position is a long-term, full-time position in Bakersfield, CA. The hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and Friday hours are 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This company offers excellent benefits!
Requirements:
Associates degree in business administration/finance required, accounting degree is preferred
Minimum 3 years experience in all payroll functions, 3 years additional payroll office experience in lieu of associates degree
Knowledge of payroll principles and practices
Proficiency in QuickBooks and eCPR tracker
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
