You will:Teach safe, effective independent travel, orientation, and mobility skillsAssess each student's strengths, needs, and learning environmentAdapt instruction using visual, auditory, tactile, and nonvisual strategiesDevelop individualized goals and service plansCollaborate with families, educators, related-service providers, and school teamsMonitor student progress and maintain accurate documentationAdvocate for accessibility, independence, and meaningful participationWhat You'll BringA degree in Orientation and Mobility from an accredited programCurrent certification-or eligibility for certification-as an Orientation & Mobility SpecialistStrong knowledge of independent travel skills, mobility techniques, and adaptive instructionThe ability to individualize services for students with diverse needsStrong communication, collaboration, and documentation skillsA genuine commitment to empowering students with visual impairmentsFind Meaning in Your WorkEvery new skill can open a door for a student-from confidently navigating a school hallway to participating more independently in the wider community.
