Responsibilities/Duties:
- Responsible for providing treatment as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effects and discuss observations with the OT.
- Ability to perform components of an appropriate assessment on all residents as related to the therapy requested and provided, and reassessments as per policy.
- Able to asses patient/resident pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation - makes appropriate physician, contact for intervention.
- Assists with formulation of a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
- Coordinates and assists with directing patient care to ensure patients/residents' needs are met and hospital/nursing home policy is followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Required:
- AA Degree from a school or college approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Current state of Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Assistant license
- Current certification by the NBCOT
