    Description

    We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA implements individualized treatment plans to help residents improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), maximize independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.
     
    Responsibilities:
    • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
    • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve residents' strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional independence.
    • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, and functional mobility.
    • Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment responses to the Occupational Therapist.
    • Accurately document treatments, patient progress, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, safety measures, and home exercise programs.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation team members, and other interdisciplinary professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, facility policies, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment while ensuring proper use of therapy equipment.
     
    Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
    • Active state COTA license in the applicable state.
    • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or long-term care setting preferred.
