Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Location: Rochester, NY

Department: Health Services

Reports To: Assistant Director of Health Services

Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Starting Wage: $25-30 per hour, commensurate with experience

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Physical Therapist (PT).
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized OT/PT service plans.
  • Complete therapy assessments, progress notes, monthly summaries, and required clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support therapeutic goals and services.
  • Provide education and training to staff regarding therapy-related supports and interventions.
  • Identify and request adaptive equipment and therapy-related supplies.
  • Monitor individual progress and communicate updates or concerns to supervising clinicians.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring:

  • Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the New York State Department of Education required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience preferred.
  • Valid Drivers License, reliable transportation and ability to meet Agency Motor Vehicle Operating Requirements (MVOR).
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to provide hands-on support and therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to meet SCIP and/or agency vehicle operator requirements.
