Marinette School District is seeking a self-motivated, energetic individual to join our team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Position will support to the Occupational Therapists, and will be responsible for implementing intervention and therapy under the direction of the Occupational Therapists.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Occupational Therapists with assessing students'' fine motor and development skills.
  • Attends necessary meetings to relay and receive information regarding students in support of best practices for school occupational therapy delivery.
  • Consults with other therapists, staff, teachers, and administration to provide requested information, review or revise student''s occupational therapy goals, develop plans for services and or to make recommendations to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Implements therapeutic activities and provides instruction to students, teachers, and families in approaches and practices that support appropriate care of the student.
  • In collaboration with the Occupational Therapists, maintains files and records that clearly and accurately documents occupational therapy activities, information and progress.
  • Maintains treatment equipment and supplies.
  • Provides direct occupational therapy services to students according to IEP goals.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree required; Bachelor''s degree preferred
  • Current and valid COTA license
  • Experience assessing and selecting assistive technology
  • Knowledge of IDEA policies and procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team to analyze, synthesize and evaluate program progress and implement changes
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, community partners, etc…
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
