Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Job Summary: We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services under the direction of an Occupational Therapist. This role involves working both at the center and in participants' homes to improve independence, safety, and daily living skills (ADLs).
Key Responsibilities:

• Administer treatment programs as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.
• Work with the rehabilitation team to carry out individualized treatment plans.
• Schedule participant treatments, clinical visits, and manage billing.
• Maintain and track therapy equipment.
• Provide and document occupational therapy interventions, including:
  • Use of devices and techniques to support independence.
  • Activities for muscle re-education.
  • Training to improve perceptual-motor, cognitive function, balance, and endurance.
  • Support for activities of daily living (ADLs).

Requirements:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Foreign OTA degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
• Valid California Occupational Therapy Assistant license or proof of eligibility.
• Reliable means of transportation.
• Minimum 2 years of OTA experience in a clinical setting with frail or elderly populations.
• Strong knowledge of treating elderly participants with complex needs.
