Description

The primary responsibility of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant I (COTA) is to provide direct patient care under the direction of a qualified occupational therapist upon physician referral.

Required Skills
  • Ability to perform patient care, utilizing correct body mechanics.
  • Competent to treat a variety of diagnoses who may be infants, children, adults or older adults.
  • Basic splinting skills.

 



Required Experience
  • OTA - Occupational Therapist Assistant license through the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)
  • (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Driver License, Valid and in State
  • Automobile Insurance
  • Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)

Preferred

  • COTA - Occupational Therapy Assistant – Certified through the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapist (NBCOT)
