Speech of Miami is looking for a bilingual Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing team!

This position offers the best of both worlds: morning sessions in local daycares and afternoon sessions in our pediatric therapy office.

Requirements:

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
Minimum of 1 year of pediatric experience required
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Passion for working with children and their families
Schedule:

Morning: Daycare-based therapy sessions (1 mile from office!)
Afternoon: Office-based therapy sessions
Monday through Friday (half-day Fridays)

Job Responsibilities

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is responsible for providing pediatric occupational therapy services in an outpatient office setting under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). Responsibilities include implementing individualized treatment plans established by the supervising OT, providing engaging and developmentally appropriate therapy to address fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing and regulation, motor planning, self-care skills, attention, coordination, and functional independence. The COTA will document treatment sessions and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner, communicate patient performance and concerns with the supervising OT, provide caregiver education and home-program recommendations as appropriate, and collaborate with other members of the therapy team. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a safe, organized, and child-friendly treatment environment, appropriately utilizing and caring for therapy equipment and materials, and adhering to all clinical, documentation, confidentiality, and professional standards.
